Media Coverage: Studio Portraits Workshop (Kuwait- WAH Photography Group)
Thursday, July 14, 2011 at 9:19PM As one of the founding members of a Kuwait based photography group (We Are Here), I held a Studio Photography workshop back in Kuwait during my last visit in January 2011.

PROJECT: Black and White Urban Portraits
Sunday, May 22, 2011 at 10:04PM I've recently started a new portrait project (Title above) and so far it's looking good! My choice of Black and White isn't to merely eliminate color, but to emphasize deeply on the Model, Background, and Composition. With the lack of colors these 3 elements have to be perfected in order to capture a unique photograph.
"When you photograph people in colour you photograph their clothes. But when you photograph people in B&W, you photograph their souls!" ~Ted Grant
I'm looking forward to finish this project with as many models as possible, below is just a sample of the project.
Model: Hussain Esmaeel

The Project is finally done! thanks to my partner/student/model: Hussain Esmaeel for all the help and the coverage that will be posted here soon.
Special Thanks to my friends and models: Hussain Esmaeel,Britney Malsam, Joël Jacques Piché-Brooks, Raven McShane, Sam Lynass, and Tori Scott.

project Media Coverage: CSU Display
Friday, February 25, 2011 at 12:43AM

The Rocky Mountain Collegian, a CSU based newspaper, just published an article about the display! they have interviewed me and took photos me with the work and the article is now published in the link below!
Laying sideways just inches from the water, Naser Alawadh’s elbow skimmed the roaring currents at Rocky Mountain National Park to capture a photo now being displayed in the Lory Student Center. It may have been uncomfortable, but it was worth it.
“At the Surface” is just one of 20 of Alawadh’s photos part of the new student display in the LSC.
Three years ago, Naser Alawadh was living with his family of seven in Kuwait City, Kuwait. Today, Alawadh is a CSU student studying nutrition who has gained a love for photography and a new perspective.
Special Thanks to Allison Knaus and Erin Mros
Also, Stay Tuned for a TV interview done by CSUTV. I'm just waiting on the video

Photography 101: The What, When, Where and How to Shoot (Chapter 2)
Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at 9:26AM

Good morning class! How’s everyone doing today? Good to see you all again. I hope you enjoyed last lecture’s homework and assignment. By now everyone here should know “What” they want to shoot, because today we will be covering Chapter 3: When to Shoot.
As you all should know; time and location are two Essential parts in the art of Photography. Unlike many other arts where you work in a controlled environment like a studio or a closed room, Photography goes beyond the walls of a single room. Photography expands to the outside world! It reaches the sky with Arial Photography and all the way deep down blue oceans with Underwater Photography!

Poll: Would you buy photo prints?
Monday, May 10, 2010 at 2:07AM If I were to present you all the chance to buy prints of my photos and have them delivered to you doorsteps, for a reasonable price and a variety of sizes, would you buy any? and how many ?
Simple poll, but please be straight forward and honest about this, don't vote just to make me feel good. I need good and honest feedback.
Photo Trip: L.A. Zoo
Friday, May 7, 2010 at 6:41PM

As some of you might know, I went to LA Zoo a few weeks back; specifically to shoot my favorite animal; the Snow Leopard! which I spent a whole hour in front of its cage with my 70-300mm lens. I took around 250 shots only of the Snow Leopard and ended up with about 20 after filtering.
I also took some shots of some other animals but didn't like many of'em. I got some good shots of the Lion and Lioness. The tiger spent the whole day sleeping! then it only lifted its head and stayed still ;S so i walked away.

Colorado Trip
Thursday, April 8, 2010 at 11:52PM
Updated on April 21st 2010
I've recently Updated the album with about 8 new photos from my last photoshoot at Horsetooth Mountain park with Saleh Aljemaz. Check out the first 8 photos in the Slide show

As some of you might already know; I'm moving from Los Angeles,CA to Fort Collins, CO. So for this years spring break I decided to head over there and visit the place to check it out and finish some stuff before the big move. I do realize the big difference and EVERYTHING, so please if you want to comment and say how Hard of a move this will be, please spare me the time.
Any ways, as most of you know; Colorado is FAMOUS for its nature! it has got one of the most astonishing landscapes and natural views I've ever laid eyes on! and I haven't seen much yet! so while checking out the place, I of course got my camera and "checked it out" in a different way, and here are the first batch of Photos that I've taken. Some in Fort Collins, and some on my way to Boulder.
Enjoy!

Naserphoto Define: Photography
Monday, March 8, 2010 at 3:27AM

I've looked through the web looking for a definition to set as a ground for this article, but unfortunately I couldn't find any that I personally like. Reason is that the definitions I've found were too typical. Every reference defines photography in a materialistic perspective. A perspective concerned in showing photography as the act of taking photos, whether its an art or otherwise.
I have to strongly argue with this concept which most people simply take for granted. Photography is taken for granted! Nowadays, almost every individual owns a camera, and quite a few own pro ones. If we were to define a photographer as a person who takes photos we will have a whole population of photographers since people can now take photos from their mobile phones! Photography is not only for those who have a professional BIG camera with a big long lens.
Photography is an art, but not all photographers are artists. For a photographer to be an artist he has to Feel the photos he's taking. This kind of feeling isn't a talent as much as it's an earned and well developed skill. A photographer goes through many stages starting from learning to use a camera to learning how to show the world what he feels through his photographs, and the camera is merely a tool for this purpose.
Photography is a Language. Photography is My language. I speak out to you all through my photos. many people see my photos and can only see the colors and shapes, while very few actually see what's behind these colors and shapes. I compose my photographs carefully, taking into consideration the elements and objects in each photo as each hold a certain meaning and delivers a certain message (You will understand this more once I start discussing my photos here soon).
I will be reaching out to each and everyone of you with my photos. I will be showing you what the real feelings behind a photograph are and how strong they can be. I studied photography on my own only to be able to Speak it. I studied it so I can express what my eyes see and what my mind feels. Photography is the language I will be using on this blog, and I hope everyone will be able to understand it.
